Family of 3 booked for fraud

Punjab police today booked a family of three and another person for alleged fraud in Ahluwalia locality here.

The family of three got Rs 25 lakh loan from the local branch of Central Bank by showing their income tax returns which later turned out to be fake. The trio also did not return the loan, they said.

A case has been registered against the trio under IPC sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) based on the complaint of branch manager R K Gupta, police said.
 

Likewise, another person got Rs 9 lakh loan from the same branch by presenting fake IT returns, and was booked under aforesaid IPC sections, they said.

No arrests have been made so far, police added.
