Fantasy classic reinvented for TV audiences

Readapting the fairy tale classic having captivated Bengali homes for centuries, a Bengali channel will air 'Kiranmala', the story of the beautiful princess and her two brothers.

"Happy that the work of famed fantasy writer Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder will be introduced to the largely uninitiated audience of Gen Next as well as others. Replete with palace, forts and 'raj-durbar' Kiranmala by Star Jalsha will bring a change in the usual look of Bengali serials after many years," the lead actor Rukma Roy told PTI here.

"I get to play a warrior princess and feel happy as a girl that my character is also endowed with the inner strength and determination of a 'Nari'. Kiranmala has a message for everybody," Rukma, winner of a prominent beauty pageant and model studying in college, said.

Keeping in mind that children are one of the biggest watchers of fantasy tales, seven children from divergent backgrounds the The Kiranmala actor at Star Jalsha stall in Book Fair.
