Farmers commits suicide

A debt-ridden farmer today allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance here, police said.

Jagat Singh (50) consumed poisonous substance this morning and was taken to the hospital where he died during treatment, Station Incharge of Baghpat police station Mukesh Kumar said.

A complaint has been lodged against the branch manager of a nationalised bank and investigation is underway, he added.
