Father commits suicide after killing infant son

A man killed his infant son and then allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Nadia district, police said today.

Sarajit Roy (28), a labourer killed his one and half year old infant son and then hung his body from a tree. He then allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a branch of the same tree at Badkulla Koya village in Nadia district, the police said.

Roy had left home with his son after a quarrel with his wife last night, they said.

The bodies of both father and son were found hanging from a tree by villagers, who informed the police.
