Father kills minor daughter in UP

A 6-year-old girl was allegedly killed by his father in Mamaura village of Bhogipura area here, police said.

The accused, Zafar alias Chand Miyan, battered his minor daughter after her 'dupatta' slipped while she was playing, they said.

Zafar was enraged when Shabana's 'dupatta' slipped on the ground, he then hit her and threw her on the ground, killing the minor on the spot, they said.

According to villagers Zafar liked to keep women in 'pardah' (veil) and was bit eccentric, they added.

Superintendent of Police, Rural Brijesh Srivastava said that the accused has been arrested.
