FDA raids hospitals in Sonepat

Cracking down on illegal abortions, Haryana government conducted raids at various private hospitals in Sonepat district and seized equipments used illegally for terminating pregnancies.

A team of Haryana Food and Drug Administration (FDA) carried out the raids at several hospitals and recovered machines, equipments and medicines used illegally for Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP), a spokesman of the department said.

Such raids are being carried out across the state to put a check on illegal abortions and female foeticide to further improve sex ratio in the state, he said.
