Filmstar-turned-politician Chiranjeet's net worth Rs 3.5 crore

Bengali filmstar-turned-politician Chiranjeet Chakrabarti, who is fighting West Bengal Assembly polls on a Trinamool Congress ticket, has a net worth of about Rs 3.5 crore.

In his affidavit before the Election Commission, his movable assets like cash, bank balance and investments in total make up about Rs 2.9 crore.

He also owns an SUV worth about Rs 10 lakh, a necklace and finger ring valued over Rs 1.5 lakh in 2001.

Chakrabarti, who is the sitting MLA from Barasat seat in North 24 Parganas, also owns a flat in Kolkata estimated to be worth over Rs 48 lakh.

His income for 2015-16 was Rs 33,66,710, the affidavit said.
 

The 66-year-old is best known for his action films of the nineties.
