Fire at city fair, no casualty

A fire broke out in a fair

tonight at Salt Lake Stadium compound, located in the north-eastern flank of the city off E M Bypass.

Fire officials said five fire tenders were pressed into service to put off the blaze which was believed to have been caused by a short circuit.

There was no report of any injury or casualty so far.

Few stalls of the fair, 'Marudhar Mela', organised during the Christmas-New Year festive season, were gutted in the flames which broke out when the stalls were closed in late hours.
