Fire in Kolkata mall

A major fire broke out at a

shopping mall in the New Market area in the heart of the city today.

Eighteen fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames which were suspected to have been caused by a short-circuit inside the godown of the mall this morning, a fire brigade official said.

"The fire broke out at 11.45 am at the CitiMart and fire tenders are still fighting to contain the blaze," he said.
