Five die in collision

Five persons, including two minor children and a six-month-old infant, died on the spot when the car in which they were travelling collided with a bus at Gundulpet in the district today, police said.

The deceased included a 40-year-old man, his six-year-old daughter and male nephews aged five and six months and a 60-year-old women, they said.

All of them were returning to their native village of Hosagulli after visiting a relative at a hospital in Gundulpet when the mishap occurred.

The man's wife has been hospitalised and is stated to be "out of danger", police said.
