Five injured in BJP-Trinamool clash

Five persons were injured today in a clash between activists of BJP and Trinamool Congress over distribution of forms in a college at Moinaguri in Jalpaiguri district.

The clash broke out when activists of BJP alleged malpractice by Trinamool Congress supporters during distribution of forms at Moinaguri College, the police said.

Superintendent of Police Kunal Agarwal said one BJP supporter was detained.

BJP district president Hiten Pramanik also alleged that later the Trinamool Congress supporters damaged their party office at Moinaguri.

However, Trinamool Congress leader Manoj Roy said that their activists were not behind the incident.

The injured people were admitted to a local hospital.
