Foreign currencies totally worth Rs 40 lakh have been seized from a Dubai-bound passenger at the airport here, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence said today.
The officials found assorted foreign currencies -- Kuwait Dinar, Oman Rial, Bahrain Dinar and Saudi Riyal -- of various denominations from the passegner, a DRI release said.
On interrogation, the passenger said the currencies were obtained from unauthorised dealers.
The passenger had been detained and further investigation was on, the release added.
