Former KPCC member Parukutty Amma passes away

Freedom fighter and former KPCC member V Parukutty Amma died here today.

90-year-old Parukutty died of old age-related illness at a private hospital, party sources said.

Parukutty, who served as a school teacher for 23 years, withdrew from active politics in 1975.

During the visits of late leaders Jawaharlal Nehru, V K Krishna Menon and Indira Gandhi to Kerala, she was assigned to translate their speeches into Malayalam.
