Former MLA Vishnu sent in police custody in hooch case

A magistrate's court today remanded former MLA Malladi Vishnu in police custody in a spurious liquor case.
Vijayawada Police Commissioner Goutam Sawang said that a special investigation team of the police obtained four-day custody of Vishnu in the case.
Five persons died and another 22 persons were taken ill after allegedly consuming liquor at Swarna Bar and Restaurant here on December 7.
Vishnu, a partner in the Bar, was arrested on January 7 and had been remanded in judicial custody.
