Foundation laid for drinking water project in Pondy

Puducherry Welfare Minister P.Rajavelu today laid the foundation stone for a Rs 1.3 crore overhead water tank under the special component plan at Krimambakkampet village near here.

The tank would have a capacity to store around 50,000 litres and water would be available thrice a day to the residents.

Rajavelu said that such schemes would be launched in a number of villages making use of the funds earmarked under Special Component plan.

Rajavelu also launched infrastructure development works in the village under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.
