Four persons were arrested in connection with the waylaying and robbing a pepper merchant of Rs 11 lakh in Annur a week ago.
The Gudalur-based merchant was returning with money after supplying pepper in Theni and other places on April 20, when the four-member gang way laid, abducted him for some distance and robbed Rs 11.50 lakh from him.
Sirumugai police were investigating the case, who noticed the car involved in the robbery and nabbed the gang members a couple of days ago, police said today.
After interrogation, police recovered the looted money and accused were identified as Mahendrababu, Sathishkumar, Vijayaraghavan and Sathish, hailing from Theni, they said.
