Four Maoists were arrested and a large quantity of ammunition and explosives were seized during an anti-naxal operation in Giridih district, police said today.
The district armed police and para-military force personnel launched the operation last night and arrested four naxals identified as Govind Manjhi, Tala, Kalicharan Turi and Girdhari Mahato, said Additional Superintendent of Police, Deepak Kumar.
A large quantity of ammunition and explosives including 197 cartridges, 10 detonators, three IEDs and naxal leaflets in large quantity seized from them, he said.

The arrested naxals, who belonged to the arm squad headed by Nunuchand, have threatened to blow up the homes of policemen if Nunuchand's property recently attached were not returned, he said adding that the threatening posters have also been seized.
A case has been registered against arrested naxals, who were also wanted by Dhanbad district police, he said adding that further interrogation was on.
