Four UP power corporation employees suspended

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today suspended three executive engineers and a deputy chief accountant of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation for allegedly making "unnecessary" purchase of about Rs 100 crore.

The CM has ordered suspension of Executive Engineers Jai Gopal Gupta, Shashikant and Mor Mukut and Deputy Chief Accountant Rakeh Kumar Trivedi, an official release said here.

After allegations that these officers misused funds for unnecessary purchase, an inquiry was conducted in which they were prima facie found true.

A number of machines, equipments and other things were purchases by these officers, which it is said was not required and Rs 100 crore were spend on these purchases.
 

The CM also ordered deductions in the pension of retired Chief Engineers M P Tripathi and R K Tyagi, who issued purchase orders.
