Freight rates up on hike in diesel prices

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following a hike in diesel prices.
Transporters said rise in diesel prices by Rs 2.26 per litre to Rs 53.93, mainly pushed up freight rates.
Delhi to Ahmedabad, Baroda, Patna and Surat freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 24,500, Rs 26,000 and Rs 27,000.
Rates to Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and Bengaluru also went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 32,000 and Rs 62,000.
