Archbishop of Goa and Daman Fr Filipe Neri Ferrao today extended greetings to Christians on the occasion of Easter tomorrow and hoped the festival will promote inter-community harmony which is essential for the nation's progress.
"I extend greetings to all the people of goodwill, with wish that the same values, which are universal, may shine out in our lives, strengthening our traditional inter- religious and inter-community understanding and harmony, thus ensuring a more just and peaceful living and progress for the nation," he said in his message here.
"The Feast of the Resurrection of Christ symbolises the triumph of love over hatred, of joy over sadness, of mercy over hardness of heart," he said.
"As I partake in the joy of the Christian community in our Archdiocese, I pray that the Church in Goa may rise to the occasion and express this joy in daily living, in families and neighbourhoods," Ferrao added.
