A 60-year-old hotel manager reportedly lost his valuables, including gold ornaments on a Chennai-bound train, while he was asleep, early today.

In a complaint lodged with the railway police, Srinivasan from Virudhunagar stated that he had gone to sleep after keeping his 10 sovereign gold ornaments, including chain and a ring, along with a wrist watch and Rs 12,000 in cash in a bag while he was travelling to Chennai from Mangaluru by West Coast Express, police said.

However, as the train departed Palakkad station, he woke up and found his bag missing in the early hours today, the complainant said.
