Government official found dead at his service quarter

A lekhpal was found dead at his official quarter in Mat Tehsil of the district, police said today.

He was not seen for the past two days, which raised concerns among neighbours who informed the police.

The deceased, Ram Asare (50) was a resident of Pratapgarh and was living alone here. "His death became public when some neighbours developed doubt as he was not seen for the last two days," police said.

"He was found dead lying on his cot, when the door was open in presence of SDM and Tahsildar," they said.

Nothing suspcious could be found in his post-mortem report, SDM Anjani Kumar Singh said.
 

He was incharge of Kinarai and Samoli villages of Mat Tehsil, Singh said.
