Govt asks army to help clear roads, restore essential services

The Centre today asked the army to help the local administration in clearing national highways running through Haryana and restore essential services.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting at the residence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Manohar Parrikar and M Venkaiah Naidu and NSA Ajit Doval attended the meeting.

"The army has been asked to help the local administration in opening up the blocked national highways in Haryana and to restore essential services," government sources said.
