Gram, arhar slide on higher supply

Prices of gram and arhar fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today, dragged down by higher supplies against sluggish demand.

Marketmen said adequate stock position on higher supplies from producing regions against subdued demand from retailers at prevailing levels mainly pulled down gram and arhar prices.

Besides, government's measures to check rising prices too weighed on prices, they said.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 4300-5000, Rs 4,600-4,800 and Rs 4,700-5,000 per quintal respectively.

Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 2,080 instead of Rs 2,180 per 35 bag respectively.
 

Arhar and its dal dara variety also fell by Rs 100 each to 7,050-7,150 and Rs 8,450-8,650 per quintal, respectively.

Urad Rs 7,950-8,450, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 8,850-9,050, urad best Rs 9,050-9,650, Dhoya Rs 9,450-9,750, Moong Rs 6,700-7,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 7,500-8,000, Moong Dhoya local Rs 7,500-7,800 and best quality Rs 8,300-8,400.

Masoor small Rs 6,600-6,700, bold Rs 6,600-6,800, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,650-7,750, best quality Rs 7,750-7,850, Malka local Rs 7,800-8,150, best Rs 7,900-8,200, Moth Rs 5,500-5,800, Arhar Rs 7,050-7,150, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 8,450-8,650.

Gram Rs 4,300-5,000, Gramdal (local) Rs 4,600-4,800, best quality Rs 4,700-5,000, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 2,080, Rajdhani Rs 2,080, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,600-5,700, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,400-6,600, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,200-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,800-2,825 and green Rs 2,800-2,900.
