Chinsali, Feb 8 (Zanis) A grandmother in Muchinga Province of Zambia has sued her daughter and son-in-law for negligence.
52-year-old Dyness Bwalya sued her daughter Elizabeth Kampamba and son-in-law Ernest Chimfwembe for their negligence in providing proper care to their children, Bwalya's grandchildren.
Bwalya told the court that on different occasions she observed that her grandchildren were not properly taken care of by the parents, who never changed their attitudes even after she discussed the matter with them.
Bwalya narrated that on two occasions she even involved a civic leader to talk to the couple.
Court noted that between September 1 and December, 2012, Kampamba and Chimfwembe, while acting together, did fail to provide necessities to their children contrary to section 169(A) of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the charge levelled against them. The Court has adjourned the matter till February 19. (Zanis)
