An elderly man and his wife was brutally murdered by their unemployed grandson in Narmada district of the state after the grandparents refused him money to meet his daily expenses, police said today.

The accused, Akshay Vasava (30) killed his grandfather Kotiya Vasava (72) grandmother and Zanga Vasava (68) on Tuesday after the couple refused him money for unnecessary spendings, police said.

A complaint in this regard was filed by the relatives today and he was from his residence yesterday.

Since Akshay was unemployed and lived with his grandparents separately in Moti Fali village of Narmada district and used to ask for money from his grandparents living in the village," Inspector S J Baria said quoting the complaint.

However, the aged couple was tired of Akshay's demands and refused to give him any more money after he came to their house, Baria said.

"Out of anger, Akshay took a wooden log and hit them on their heads. After they fell on the floor, he crushed their heads with a large stone and went home. The matter came to light next day morning after Akshay's uncle went to meet his father and found the dead bodies of the couple," Baria said.
