Apart from a farmer committing suicide during its rally today, AAP's protest was also marred by demonstrations by guest teachers from Delhi Government schools who alleged that they were "being exploited".
The teachers shouted slogans against the Government, displayed placards that read "Kejriwal hosh mein aao, apne waado se mukar na jao" (Kejriwal, live up to your poll promises) and waved hands towards the Delhi Chief Minister to draw his attention even as AAP members appealed volunteers not to confront the protesters.
"We have been protesting for last 20 days, but our demands are being ignored.
"We are being exploited. We are working on wages and have not been regularised. Before assembly polls, Kejriwal said he will look into our problems, but he did not. Instead, we are referred to as BJP's agents. We are told we are not eligible. Why are we are still teaching at schools then?" asked Sumit Kumar, one of the protesting teachers.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, however, claimed that the AAP Government was working "fastest" in the country on the issue of regularising the services of the guest teachers.
"If anybody can talk about interests of teachers and education with command in the whole country, then it's we. The AAP Government is working fastest on this issue of regularising (guest) teachers' services," he said.
Sisodia said Kejriwal took up the issue of teachers on the first day after AAP assumed power and added that 15 meetings were held with the education department officials in this regard.
"When Arvind came to power, he called me on the first day and said that no teacher would be removed. We passed an order that none of the contract workers employed with the Delhi Government including teachers would be removed. This order was passed on the first day of the Government," Sisodia claimed during the rally.
He added the Kejriwal dispensation aimed at improving quality of education imparted at government schools for which "talented" teachers were required.
A delegation of AAP leaders later headed to meet Union Agriculture Minister to discuss farmers' issues.
