Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today announced more financial assistance under a revised relief package for farmers whose crops were damaged in the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorm.
As per revised norms announced today, farmers who suffered losses of more than 33 per cent would be given assistance of Rs 6,800 per hectare for non-irrigated land and Rs 13,500 per hectare for irrigated land, according to an official press release issued here.
The Gujarat state government also announced a new structure of assistance for those farmers who have suffered losses between 25 to 33 per cent. Now, such farmers will be given Rs 6,800 per hectare for non-irrigated land and Rs 13,500 for irrigated land, the release stated.
