Gur prices improve on tight arrivals, better offtke

Gur pedi prices edged up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today mostly backed up by fall in arrivals from manufacturing belts amid better offtake.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also isplayed a firm trend with prices of gur chakku and khurpa rising by Rs 50 per quintal.

Market players said restricted arrivals from manufacturing areas due to adverse weather conditions supported by pick up in demand mainly led to the rise in gur prices.

In Delhi, gur pedi prices rose by Rs 50 to end at Rs 2,750-2,850 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices improved by Rs 50 to Rs 2,450-2,600 per quintal.
 

Also, prices of Khurpa moved up by a similar margin of Rs 50 at Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal.

Muradnagar gur markets showed a firm trend with prices of gur peid rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,700-2,800, pedi Rs 2,750-2,850, dhayya Rs 2,900-3,000 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,300-2,350, chakku Rs 2,450-2,600, khurpa Rs 2,350-2,400 and Ladoo Rs 2,500-2,550.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,400-2,450 and dhayya Rs 2,400-2,450.
