Gur prices spurted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today due to paucity of stocks following negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts amid speculative demand.
Meanwhile, Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets ended quiet on small buying support.
Marketmen said shortage of ready stocks due to fall in production in manufacturing areas because of rising mercury, powered by speculative buying by stockists and retailers, mainly boosted the prices of gur.
In Delhi, gur Chakku climbed Rs 100 to settle at Rs 3,600-3,700 per quintal.
Likewise, shakkar prices hardened by Rs 100 to end at Rs 4,000-4,100 per quintal.

Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,700-3,800, dhayya Rs 3,900-4,000 and shakkar Rs 4,000-4,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,700-2,750, chakku Rs 3,150-3,250, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,350-3,400 and dhayya Rs 3,150-3,175.
