Gur prices up in Delhi, down in Muzaffarnagar

Gur prices firmed up at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight supplies amid speculative buying and registered a rise of Rs 100 per quintal.

On the other hand, at Muzaffarnagar gur prices fell due to absence of demand.

At Muradnagar gur prices rose on increased buying.

Marketmen said strong demand and thin arrivals mainly pushed up gur prices in Delhi and Muradnagar.

In Delhi, gur Pedi and Dhayya prices were higher by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,200-3,300 per quintal.

At Muradnagar, there also prices of gur pedi and Dhayya traded higher at Rs 2,650-2,700 and Rs 2,800-2,850 as against Rs 2,600-2,650 and Rs 2,700-2,750 per quintal.
 

On the other hand, in Muzaffarnagar, gur chaku, Khurpa and Laddo prices settled lower at Rs 2,400-2,650, Rs 2,350-2,400 and Rs 2,550-2,650, showing a fall up to Rs 100 per quintal.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku Rs 2,900-3,000, pedi Rs 3,000-3,100, dhayya Rs 3,200-3,300 and shakkar Rs 3,200-3,300.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,400-2,650, khurpa Rs 2,350-2,400 and Ladoo Rs 2,550-2,650.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2,700 and dhayya Rs 2,800-2,850.
