Indian marksman Gurpreet Singh narrowly missed out on a place in the final of men's 25m rapid-fire pistol, finishing seventh at the ISSF Rifle-Pistol World Cup here today.

Gurpreet, who has secured a quota for Rio Olympics, shot 577 in the qualification round to miss out on a berth in the six-men final by just one place as the Indians endured a medal-less day.

The pistol event was dominated by Chinese shooters as both the gold and silver medals went to them.

Fusheng Zhang, with a total of 29, walked away with the gold medal while Yuehong Li won the silver with a total score of 28 points.

Thanh Minh Ha from Vietnam won the bronze medal with a total score of 23 points in the category.
