Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu, A P Maheshwari today called on Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here and briefed him about the overall security situation in the region.
This was Maheshwari's first meeting with the Governor after he recently took over the charge of IG CRPF, Jammu.
Vohra discussed several sensitive aspects of effective internal security management in J&K with the IG during the meeting, an official spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the Governor also gifted a laptop to Mimansha Choudhary, a first year student of B A History at the Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi, for her outstanding academic performance.
Vohra emphasised the importance of meritorious students being suitably encouraged and rewarded so that others are inspired to put in their best efforts to achieve excellence in their chosen fields of learning, the spokesman added.
Choudhary had scored 97.4 per cent marks in the Senior Secondary exams in 2012 in the humanities stream and was the topper in the Jammu Division.
