The Congress alleged that the Governor's address during the Haryana Assembly's Budget session today lacked focus, perspective and direction, and "paints the state government as a rudderless ship".

"The Governor's address paints the government as a rudderless ship going adrift on the choppy waters of Haryana. It glosses over the issues that concern people in the streets," Leader of the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, Kiran Choudhry, said in a statement here.

Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, in his address to the members of the Legislative Assembly here on the first day of the Budget Session, touched upon the steps taken by the Manohar Lal Khattar government on various fronts including people's welfare and put the state on high growth trajectory.

"The more than 9,500-word text (of the address) glosses over such vital issues such as the problems faced by the farmers, demands of the Jat agitators, traders, job-seekers and the worsening law-and-order situation in the state," she said.

"It talks of building the foundation for a golden future but offers no policy framework," she claimed.

"It seems the BJP government has no plans to bail out the hail and storm-hit farmers of the state, check the soaring crime rate... And provide jobs to lakhs of unemployed youths," Choudhry said.

"The Governor's address shows that the BJP government lacks focus, perspective and direction," she claimed.
