The Haryana government has asked all the concerned district authorities to ensure stricter implementation of rules prohibiting pre-natal sex determination.
A health department spokesperson said today that all District Appropriate Authorities-cum-Civil Surgeons have been asked to submit their action-taken reports on a monthly basis.
"It was found that actions taken under PCPNDT Act like seizure and sealing of machines, suspension or cancellation of registration and filing of court cases were not sufficient during the period of April to June this year," he said.

District Appropriate Authorities, or the civil surgeons, are accountable for implementation of the PCPNDT Act in their respective districts, the spokesperson said.
He said stress has been given on effective implementation of the Act in such districts where the sex ratio is less than 800 per 1000.
These places are Narnaul (Mahendergarh), Rewari, Sonepat and Jhajjar with sex ratio between 800 to 830, and Panipat and Rohtak where it ranges between 830 to 850.
Officers have been directed to identify violators of the Act through regular detailed audits of Form-F, which is filled at the clinics, he said.
