Haryana veterinary surgeon gets 3 yrs jail in bribery case

A veterinary surgeon in Haryana has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a bribery case by a local court here.

The Court of Additional Session Judge, Jind, also imposed a fine of Rs 4,000 on Rajesh Kumar, a veterinary surgeon in Animal Husbandry Department in Jind district's Khatkar village.

Kumar was caught by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant in return of giving medical report of buffaloes for loan purpose in August 2013.

A case was earlier registered against Kumar on the basis of a raid conducted by the Vigilance Bureau.
