Amid allegations of bias being levelled by BJP, Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath today advised political parties to have faith in constitutional bodies.

"Have faith in constitutional bodies. (TN) Seshan may come and go. Sampath may come and go. The institution (EC) will be there forever," Sampath said.

He was responding to questions on BJP's accusation that the Commission was biased against it and that former Chief Election Commissioner T N Seshan never allowed parties and politicians to attack the poll panel.

He also said the alleged violation of electoral laws by BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar in showing his party's symbol and clean chit given to Rahul Gandhi for allegedly violating vote secrecy in Amethi were "dissimilar" cases.

"These are totally different things. They are not similar irrespective of the similarities and it is not proper to say there is discrimination," Sampath told CNN-IBN.
