Heavy showers accompanied by high winds and hailstorm lashed the city this evening.
Trees and advertisement hoardings were uprooted and electricity and telephone cables snapped during the spell that lasted about 20 minutes, plunging many parts of the city in the darkness.
The traffic on the busy Nagpur-Katol highway was disrupted for some time as a huge tree fell on the road.
Hailstorms were also reported in Kalmeshwar, Katol and Narkhed tehsils.
No loss of life was reported.
