Press Trust of India New Delhi
To create awareness on heritage among teachers, Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation today organised a heritage education workshop in the national capital.

Over 275 teachers from schools from Delhi and cities like Aligarh, Ludhiana, Taran Taran, Srinagar, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jalandhar and Haryana attended the workshop.

Special invitees from UNESCO, SAHAPEDIA and CBSE were also present in the workshop.

SRDC Managing Director Sanjiv Kumar said the workshop for school teachers would also reach out to young citizens of the city, as it has new needs and urgent growth requirements.

"The pressure on earth space of the city means constant negotiation to accommodate the new without destroying the old spaces and skills that need to be preserved for future generations. This requires not only the government initiative but also responsible citizens who can participate in creating this balance," he said.

Together, the citizens and government can preserve and create the global city of Delhi balanced by its historical character, he added.
