Himachal Pradesh has achieved Aadhaar saturation based on population data collected till 2015 in the state, an official said today.
"Aadhaar numbers have been generated for 72,52,880 residents of the state. Himachal Pradesh is sixth in India after Delhi, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh to achieve saturation," a spokesman of state Information and Technology department said here.
The state has distributed 780 computer tablets among 'anganwari' workers to cover children between 0-5 years under Aadhaar while 250 tablets will be deployed at health institutions to cover new born babies in order to maintain saturation, he said.

The spokesman said as biometric upgradation is mandatory after ages five and fifteen, the state has made 240 permanent enrollment centres (PECs) operational.
Twenty-two Aadhaar mobile vans have been deployed at the block-level to cover left out citizens and elderly persons in the remote areas of the state, he added.
