HP CM honours woman cricketer Sushma Verma

Chief Minister today honoured wicket-keeper of the Indian women cricket team Sushma Verma with a award of Rs 5 lakh and a job of DSP for her exploits in the Women's World Cup.

The CM lauded Sushma for bringing laurels to the state and said that it was duty of the state to honour and encourage such achievers in field of sports.

Sushma was part of the Indian team that finished runner- up in the World Cup after having lost to in the title clash.

Hailing from village Himri in Shimla (Rural) assembly constituency represented by Virbhadra, Sushma said she was grateful to the CM for giving her prize and offering her the job of DSP.

She said that she always wanted to serve in police department and this opportunity has come to her as a gift from the CM.
