HP CM honours woman cricketer Sushma Verma

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today honoured wicket-keeper of the Indian women cricket team Sushma Verma with a cash award of Rs 5 lakh and a job of DSP for her exploits in the ICC Women's World Cup.

The CM lauded Sushma for bringing laurels to the state and said that it was duty of the state government to honour and encourage such achievers in field of sports.

Sushma was part of the Indian team that finished runner- up in the World Cup after having lost to England in the title clash.

Hailing from village Himri in Shimla (Rural) assembly constituency represented by Virbhadra, Sushma said she was grateful to the CM for giving her cash prize and offering her the job of DSP.
 

She said that she always wanted to serve in police department and this opportunity has come to her as a gift from the CM.
