Press Trust of India Hyderabad
City police today registered a case under section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race) of IPC against the senior IAS officer A Vidyasagar, based on a complaint lodged by a woman.

Vatsala, the complainant, had approached a local court in this regard and following a court directive yesterday, the case was filed against the officer, said Banjara Hills police station's P Murali Krishna.

Vatsala claims that she and Vidyasagar had jointly purchased lands in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. "However, he (Vidyasagar) subsequently started saying that she was a cheater and started encouraging members of SC/ST communities to file false cases against her," the police officer said, quoting the complaint.

Probe is on.
