IIIT-Nuzvid student commits suicide

A 21-year-old third-year student of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (IIIT-Nuzvid) allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room Sunday evening, police said.

She has been identified as R Sri Bhagya Lakshmi, a resident of Gokavaram village of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, they said.

The reason of her taking the extreme step is not yet known, police said.

The body was sent to post-mortem in Nuzvid Government Hospital, they said.

A case has been registered and investigation is underway, police said.
