The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) would hold its annual convention in Chicago in May this year, a senior official has said.
"The five-day convention starting May 23 would deliberate on ways to enhance their own professional growth and offer a unified voice to protect their rights as well as explore possibilities to contribute to the society," AAPI president, Dr Narendra Kumar said yesterday.
The Chicago Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, the Senate Majority Harry Reid; Jeb Bush, Chairman of National Constitution Center Board of Trustees, Indian American Congressman Dr Ami Bera, Hindu American Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard are expected to attend the AAPI convention.
Among others likely to attend the AAPI convention are Tina Ambani, chairperson of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Managing Director & CEO, Biocon, Indian Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, and the Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi.
