Indian Army inducts 323 J-K youths as soldiers

Over 300 youths, hailing from different parts of the state, were today inducted as soldiers in Jammu-Kashmir Light Infantry of Army after successfully completing 42-week long training course held at Regimental Centre here.

"As many as 323 youth from Jammu and Kashmir were inducted into the Army at a passing out parade held at Bana Singh Parade Ground in the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Regimental Centre," a defence spokesperson said today.

He said the Passing Out Parade, graduation of a recruit and his transformation into young soldier, was reviewed by Lieutenant General R N Nair, Director General Recruiting and Colonel of the JAKLI.
 

The soldiers of the Regiment took oath to serve the supreme cause of the nation, the Spokesperson added.
