For the first time in the UAE, an event is being organised here to showcase Indian leather products such as footwear components and leather garments.
The event on December 9-10 is being organised by India's Council for Leather Exports and the Indian Embassy in UAE. It will be inaugurated by Indian envoy the UAE M K Lokesh.
The event will focus on showcasing India's finest leather and products ranging from finished leather, leather and non-leather footwear, footwear components, leather garments.

"With representation from top 34 leather companies from all over India, this is an excellent opportunity for UAE businessmen to meet the best of the Indian Leather Industry and so far more than 190 brands/companies have registered to attend the event which includes major buyers and industry leaders," the organisers said in a statement here.
Indian leather industry's trade figure has reached its highest point in the year 2012-13 which has been valued at approximately USD 5 billion, it said.
