An Indian man in the UAE died after being inadvertently run over by his own vehicle, a media report said today.
The man, who could not be identified, had parked his truck in Hamriya in Sharjah yesterday but apparently forgot to switch the engine off.
"He was in the front of the truck when it moved towards him and ran him over... He had apparently forgot to secure the brakes before getting out of the vehicle," Emirates 24X7 quoted a police spokesman as saying.
This is the second road accident in which an Asian expat has died in the emirate over the past two days.
On Saturday, a motorcycle rider died after being hit by another vehicle in Al Qurain area.
