Income Tax sleuths today raided shops and residence of a 'laddoo' (ball-shaped sweet) seller in Gaya and seized cash and property worth about Rs 1.05 crore.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Income Tax officials of Bihar raided three shops in the name of Pramod Mishra Mishthan Bhandar and the owner's residence and seized cash and property worth Rs 1.05 crore, a senior Income Tax official said.

He said preliminary search of the sale details revealed he sold 'laddoos' worth around Rs 5 crore last year but fudged the account to undervalue the sale, he said.

A meticulous search of all records is being conducted, the official said, adding that the recovery of such a huge cash and property from a sweet seller in a small town like Gaya is astounding.
