Jharkhand government has increased the amount under 'Mukhya Mantri Kanya Daan' from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000, effective from 2014-15.
In the last fiscal, there were 11,510 beneficiaries while the number in the 2017/18 is estimated at 16,000 beneficiaries, state women, child development and social security minister Louis Marandi told reporters here today.
She said the process of Tejaswini Scheme has been completed and it has been introduced in 17 districts of the state where girls in age group of 11 to 24 years will get commercial training and Rs 540 crore will be spent for the scheme in the next five years.

The minister said her department is overseeing a total of 38,432 anganwadi centres, including 2,551 minor anganwadi centres, pertaining to 224 child development projects.
To improve distribution of nutrition and other works, real time monitoring system on the basis of SMS has been developed, the minister said adding, tablets have been given to child development project officers and women supervisors.
Marandi said Jharkhand will become the first state in the country where all anganwadi centres will have LPG connections to prepare food.
