Andhra Pradesh Leader of Opposition Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today sought President Pranab Mukherjee's intervention in the "cash for vote" case, in which Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's name has reportedly cropped up.

The YSRCP leader also listed out ten corruptions charges against the TDP led government in the state and demanded Naidu's resignation.

In a memorandum submitted to the President, Reddy said the authorities and ACB should include Naidu's name as the prime accused in the cash for vote case and pursue its inquiry without coming under pressure from any quarters.

"We perceive that certain forces will try to dust the issue under the carpet and give it a quiet burial and with that apprehension, we are approaching you for justice," he said in the memorandum to Mukherjee.

TDP MLA Revanth Reddy and two others were arrested on May 31 while allegedly trying to hand over Rs 50 lakh as bribe to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for TDP nominee in the Telangana Legislative Council polls.

Naidu's name cropped in the case after some news channels aired an audio recording of a purported conversation he had with Stephenson seeking his vote in the Legislative Council elections in Telangana.

Later, briefing reporters here, Jagan Mohan Reddy charged that Naidu was trying to divert the issue into an inter-state dispute between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

"He (Chandrababu Naidu) should resign. If he is not going to resign, he should be forced to resign. Only then democracy would be protected in this country," he said.

In a twist to the cash-for-votes scam, Andhra Pradesh police registered as many as 50 FIRs against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao over the alleged illegal tapping of Naidu's phones, leading to a bitter fight between top leaders ruling the two states.
